Webb3 juli 2024 · At Hindwell there is the shadow of an enormous wooden enclosure, built between 2700 and 2500 BC. It is so old that not even the Romans would have known it was ever there. It had long gone by the time they arrived. Only modern aerial photography revealed its presence in 1992. And yet no one really knows what it was for. WebbWalton enclosure 4 had more widely-spaced posts set in separate pits with post ramps (see a to right).
